Functional marks for everyday planning
A functional planner page gives a task or goal a place to be recorded. A stamp adds a visible status: completed, awaiting an answer, cancelled, or worth revisiting. Together, the page and the mark can make a record easier to interpret when returning to it later.
The collection grew from the JOYJOY founder’s experience with functional inserts. Those pages helped her work more efficiently; stamping a completed task added a small ritual and a sense of fulfillment. That personal experience informed the design direction: useful symbols that also bring a considered visual detail to the page.
A handwritten check can record the same action. Stamps offer another way to mark it, with a repeatable shape and a consistent visual key. Their role is to support the record of progress, while the action itself remains the starting point.
Developed for compact planner pages
Portability is central to the collection. Each stamp is a separate little tool with its own cap: take the marks you need, leave the rest at home, and return them to a clear case after use. The shared capped mini-stamp housing is approximately 20 × 12 × 12 mm (0.79 × 0.47 × 0.47 in).
You do not have to buy an entire series to use one favorite. Eligible individual Shapes, Numbers, Moods, and Dots are $3 each, with repeats welcome. The collection picker lets you choose across these four series in one place.
The symbol sizes were refined through several rounds of samples and test stamping, with JOYJOY insert layouts as the development reference. The focus was on the relationship between the mark and the page: a recognizable symbol, comfortable placement, and enough space left for written details. The approved artwork dimensions below help you compare each design with your writing space; physical impressions can vary with paper and stamping pressure.

Basic Shapes: a little symbol, your own meaning
Planner icon stamps repeat a small symbol on a page. Unlike a stamp that prints an entire calendar or tracker, an icon stamp adds one mark beside something you’ve written.
Basic Shapes include a blue circle, green check mark, vermilion cross, rose-pink exclamation mark, purple-red question mark, and orange-yellow star.
These are suggested meanings, not rules. A circle might mean an open task in one planner and a reading session in another. Write a small key if you want to keep your choices easy to remember.
| Symbol | One way to use it | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Circle | Something still open | A task you’ve added but haven’t started |
| Check mark | Something completed | A parcel sent or a page finished |
| Cross | Something cancelled | A plan you no longer need to carry forward |
| Exclamation mark | Something that needs attention | A deadline or a detail to check |
| Question mark | Something waiting for an answer | A booking time you still need to confirm |
| Star | Something you want to notice | A favorite moment or a small win |
For a first week, try only check, question, and star. Give each one a single job, then see whether the marks are still useful when you look back at your page.
Three places to try mini stamps
Beside a short task list
Leave a little space beside each task for its status. Stamp a check when it’s finished. Use a question beside a detail that needs an answer, such as “Confirm delivery time.” Keep any explanation in words so a symbol doesn’t have to tell the whole story.
Inside a habit tracker
Choose one action and one completion mark. For example, a check could mean you completed the reading session you planned for that day. Define that rule before you begin.
A blank space can mean several things: a rest day, an action you didn’t do, or a record you forgot to make. Add a short note when that distinction matters. Our 1–31 monthly tracker ideas offers more ways to decide what to record.
Next to an everyday highlight
A star doesn’t have to stand for a major achievement. Place it beside a lovely lunch, a conversation you want to remember, or the sentence “Finally sent that email.” Add a few words so the memory is still clear later.
More ways to mark an everyday page
Bubble Numbers for dates and details
The Bubble Number series includes 0–9, a slash, and a colon in coffee ink. Build a date such as 10/11, a time such as 08:30, or a numbered journal entry. The complete 12-design set includes two clear cases.
Mood Words for a daily check-in
The Mood Word series pairs upright Lora lettering with six coordinated ink colors: Happy, Calm, Okay, Sad, Tired, and Stress. Stamp a word that fits the moment, then add a handwritten note if you want to remember its context.
Soft Color Dots for your own color key
Soft Color Dot stamps use 5 mm solid-circle artwork in Blush Pink, Lavender, Gray Blue, Mint, Apricot Yellow, and Water Blue. Assign a color to a project, habit, or calendar category. These are separate capped mini stamps, rather than a detachable multi-color holder. Individual colors are available in the collection picker alongside Shapes, Numbers, and Moods.
Small stamps, individual lids, clear storage
- Portable: compact separate stamps let you carry the designs you reach for most.
- Individual lids: every mini stamp has its own removable cap, including stamps in a complete set. Replace the cap after use.
- Flexible selection: choose one design, repeat a favorite, mix eligible series, or take home a ready-made complete set.
- A case for every six: every six eligible individual mini stamps include one free clear six-stamp storage case; twelve include two.
What size are JOYJOY mini planner stamps?
The shared capped stamp housing is approximately 20 × 12 × 12 mm. Each six-stamp clear storage case is approximately 110 × 26 × 25 mm (4.33 × 1.02 × 0.98 in). Housing size and artwork size describe different things: compare the artwork with the space on your page.
| Series | Approved artwork / listed impression size | Complete set |
|---|---|---|
| Basic Shapes | All artwork fits within 5 × 5 mm. Circle 4.40 × 4.40; Check 4.06 × 3.10; Cross 3.40 × 3.40; Exclamation 0.80 × 4.50; Question 3.10 × 4.65; Star 4.70 × 4.41 mm. | 6 designs · 1 case |
| Bubble Numbers | Numbers approximately 4.5 mm tall. Slash 2.70 × 4.50 mm; colon 1.20 × 3.20 mm. | 12 designs · 2 cases |
| Mood Words | All artwork fits within 5 × 5 mm. Happy 4.95 × 1.61; Calm 3.91 × 1.28; Okay 3.89 × 1.70; Sad 2.70 × 1.28; Tired 4.14 × 1.28; Stress 4.73 × 1.21 mm. | 6 designs · 1 case |
| Soft Color Dots | Solid-circle artwork: 5 mm diameter. | 6 colors · 1 case |
Shapes, Moods, and Dots measurements describe approved artwork, rather than guaranteed physical ink impressions. Paper, ink, and stamping pressure affect the result. Check the product listing and compare with your own grid before choosing; “mini” does not guarantee a fit on every page.

Start with the paper you already use
Before stamping an important page, make a practice mark on a spare sheet of the same paper. Let it dry, check whether it transfers when touched, and look at the reverse side. Paper and ink combinations can behave differently.
If you use removable planner inserts, you can take a page out of the binder to give it a flat stamping surface.
Mini icon stamps are a good idea to explore when you repeat the same kinds of marks. They don’t replace a written explanation, and they aren’t intended to print a whole planner layout. You can also try the symbol key with a pen before deciding whether stamps belong in your setup.
A page, an action, a little mark
JOYJOY’s approach connects a page for defining the task, space for recording the action, and a mark for recognizing progress. Start with one job for one stamp: a completed task, an open question, a mood, or a small moment worth keeping.

Are all impressions exactly 5 mm?
No. Shapes and Mood Words fit within a 5 × 5 mm artwork boundary; numbers are approximately 4.5 mm tall, and Soft Color Dot artwork is 5 mm in diameter. Physical ink impressions vary with paper and stamping pressure.
Will they work on every planner paper?
Test a spare sheet of your own paper for drying, smudging, and marks visible on the reverse before stamping an important page. A compact design does not guarantee universal paper compatibility.
